Garage Door Keypads · It's Kooler with a K

Your code is the key. No clicker. No key under the mat.

Punch a four-digit code and the door goes up — hands full, kids in tow, dog on the leash. Hand out a guest code for the dog walker that expires on its own. Kooler matches the pad to your opener, pairs it, and programs your codes before we leave.

A garage door keypad is the simplest upgrade your garage gets — and the one you'll touch most. No remote to lose, no house key under the mat, no scrambling when your hands are full. Just a code on the wall by the door. Kooler installs the pad that fits your opener, pairs it, programs your codes, and tests it both ways before we leave. Since 2015. Local and family owned.

Every Kooler keypad runs LiftMaster's Security+ rolling-code platform — a fresh code on every press — and is brand-matched to your opener. We pair and program on-site, then test it from the pad and your remote before we leave. No keypad pricing online: your Kraftsman gives you the number before any work starts, or we fold it into the door work you're already booking.

Why a keypad

The small upgrade you'll use every single day.

No clicker, no key

Leave the garage door remote in the car and the house key on the ring. A code on the pad lets you in clean-handed — groceries in both arms, dog on the leash, kids in tow.

Codes you can share

Give the dog walker, the cleaner, or a visiting family member their own way in. On the KeyKommand, hand out a temporary code that expires after a few hours or a set number of openings — no spare key floating around.

Backlit for the dark

The keys light up and glow, so you find the right buttons coming home after dark or heading out before sunrise. No phone flashlight, no guessing.

Built for the weather

Mounted outside, every day, in Western Slope sun and freeze-thaw. We set weather-rated pads with the cover and seal that keep water and dust off the contacts — so they last.

Locked-in security

Every keypad we carry runs LiftMaster's Security+ rolling-code platform — a fresh code on every press, so a copied signal can't pop your door. Security+ 2.0 on the newer units.

Re-paired and programmed

We don't just hand you a box. Your Kraftsman pairs the pad to your opener, programs your codes, and tests it from the pad and the remote before leaving — yours, your spouse's, whoever needs in.

The KeyKommand · guest codes

Hand out a code. Take it back when it's done.

The dog walker comes Tuesdays. The cleaner comes the first of the month. The contractor needs three days. None of them needs a key to your house — and you shouldn't have one floating around when the job's done.

The Kooler KeyKommand lets you set a temporary code that expires on its own: tell it how many hours to last, or how many times the door can open, and it shuts itself off when the count runs out. Your permanent family code stays put the whole time.

It's the same rolling-code security underneath — Security+ and Security+ 2.0 — so every press sends a fresh signal a copied remote can't fake. The guest code is just as locked-down as your own; it simply has an end date.

Your Kraftsman sets up the first codes with you on-site and shows you how to add and expire them yourself. You leave knowing exactly how to let someone in — and how to lock them back out.

What's included

Every keypad job, the standard.

  • Brand-matched keypad — LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Sommer, or Genie to fit your opener
  • Paired to your opener and tested from both the pad and your remote
  • Custom codes programmed — permanent for the family, temporary for guests where the pad supports it
  • Mounting hardware and weather seal set for the Western Slope
  • Walk-through before we leave — you go in knowing the codes and how to add more
  • Kraftsman's Guarantee on the install — never expires
How we do it

The Kooler standard, broken down.

01
Match the brand.

LiftMaster pads pair to LiftMaster openers, Sommer to Sommer. Cross-brand is sometimes possible but rarely smooth. We carry the brand-matched stock for the openers we install most, so the pad and the opener speak the same language the first time.

02
Real weather rating.

Western Slope sun and freeze-thaw chew up cheap plastic keypads. We mount weather-rated units with a backer plate and a cover that keep water and dust off the contacts. They hold up — winter after winter — instead of failing the second season.

03
Codes, not just hardware.

We program your codes before we leave. Yours, your spouse's, the cleaning team's, the dog walker's. On the KeyKommand, we set up temporary guest codes that expire on their own. You leave the visit with the door working and the codes in your phone.

Common questions

Things homeowners ask about keypads.

What's the difference between the Kooler KeyPad, KeyKommand, and KeyPad Max? +
All three are wireless, battery-powered, backlit, and weather-rated — the difference is what they do. The Kooler KeyPad (877LMX-DS) is the everyday pad: a four-digit code on a LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 opener, what most homes get. The Kooler KeyKommand is the premium pad — it adds temporary and guest codes you hand out that expire after a set number of hours or openings, while your permanent family code stays put. The Kooler KeyPad Max (877MGX-DS) is the universal multi-code pad: it reads Security+ 2.0, the older 315 and 390 MHz Security+, and Billion Code, so it pairs to almost any opener — the one to reach for on an older or mixed system.
Will a keypad work with my opener? +
Almost certainly. Every keypad we carry runs LiftMaster's Security+ family — Security+, Security+ 2.0, and the older 315 MHz, 390 MHz, and Billion Code learn-button systems. If you're not sure what you have, send us a photo of the opener motor and the learn button on the back, and we'll tell you the exact pad that pairs with it.
Can I give someone a temporary code? +
Yes — that's the whole point of the Kooler KeyKommand. You set a temporary password, then tell it how long to last: enter a number of hours and press star, or a number of openings and press pound. The pad blinks once and the guest code is learned. When it runs out, it's gone — no spare key to chase down.
How many codes can I set? +
Plenty for a normal household. You'll have a permanent code for the family plus room for the temporary and guest codes you hand out. Your Kraftsman programs the first ones on-site and shows you how to add or remove codes yourself anytime.
What if I don't know my opener's brand? +
Send us a photo of the opener motor — the brand and the learn-button color tell us everything. We'll match the right keypad and bring it to the install. No guessing, no second trip.
How long does it take to put one in? +
30 to 45 minutes including mounting, pairing, and programming your codes. If we're already at your home for other door work, we fold it into the same visit.
Which of the three is right for me? +
Most homes do great on the everyday Kooler KeyPad — a clean four-digit code for a current Security+ 2.0 opener. If you share access — a dog walker, a cleaner, a rental, a kid home from college — the KeyKommand earns its keep with guest codes that expire on their own. And if your opener is older or you're not sure what brand it is, the KeyPad Max is the safe bet: its multi-code MAX reader pairs to almost anything, new or old. Not sure? Send us a photo of your opener motor and we'll pick the right one for you.
